Weight Loss Challenge – Day 2 Of 39

Orange Theory FitnessThis is a documentation of day 2 of 39 (I update the morning after a day is complete) Tuesday, May 2, 2017 - Day 2Got my PRP shot in the knees and then 2 hours later I did 2 hours of Aikido in the evening and burned 392 calories.   We started the class with stuff I can do but then quickly went into Koshi loads and taking the falls.  The loads means you're literally supporting someones weight on your back - I got a big dude and it strained the crap out of my right knee.  I got wise after that and didn't do anything that I considered high risk.  That's a big thing for me - to back down when the risk is high.  It's taken 3 years of my sensei's contextualizing alternative thoughts.  Meaning, old Z would do something regardless of the risk because "I don't want or need a hall pass.  I want to do the prescribed amount / technique, etc.  I don't want any concessions."  The sensei's have taught me that at my age and mobility there are certain things I don't have to prove to anyone - being safe and able to train another day is a higher priority than to do something that causes injury.  Case in point:  a few years ago I broke a rib while preparing for my Concept 2 Indoor Rowing world ranking.  I got a great rank but I broke a rib and it took months to get back to normal.  Now during Aikido if I come out of a fall wrong and hit the mat in the general area of the healed rib - it wrecks me and causes pain and an aversion to do that fall.  It's all learning all the time.I had 5 meals each in the 480 calorie range. For the day I burned 2,996 calories.I took in 2,427 calories. The net deficit was 569 calories.I slept 8:34 (used Sleep Works)I drank 114 oz of water.Bottom line - I felt like I ate alot and also used my full regimen of preworkout products.  I also weighed myself to see what was happening and I was down 4 more pounds.  Today was a win.
